THE HOLLYWOOD DREAM is examination into the life of a successful screenwriter and producer as well as three “Hollywood Hopefuls” in various stages of their careers. We meet a beautiful and determined actress, model and dancer. Her past as a Playboy Playmate and her latina accent is limiting her opportunities and compromising her goals. She is persistent and ultimately shows signs of success. And we discover a Hollywood tour guide reflecting on her 15-year pursuit of becoming a singer and an actress, though it’s been 6 years since her last performance. She wonders why she isn’t a celebrity—she’s lost in the abyss of her dreams. We follow a failed screenwriter across the country who has moved to Hollywood twice and becomes stranded on his way home to Chicago. Defeated and living in the bitter shadow of what could have been, he must come to terms with a life undesired.

Along the way, the film presents celebrity interviews with some of the biggest Hollywood veterans -- such as Burt Reynolds, Charles Durning, Christopher Lloyd, Dick Van Patten, Dom Deluise and Alan Thicke, to name just a few-- who give entertaining insight into their journey and the often misguided allure of it all. But we also witness the successful journey that has come full circle with a hero’s homecoming. An accomplished screenwriter and producer (Rudy/Hoosiers) discovers that his dream was much larger than Hollywood. The “Hoosier-native” Angelo felt that his Hollywood status meant he could “never go home again”, yet discovers that not only can you go back home... sometimes it’s exactly what you must do.
